How Exercise Decreases the Risk of Cancer

Following the advice and tips and reading the information I will include in this article will not guarantee that you never are diagnosed with cancer. I wish it were that simple. However, each person is different with billions upon billions of variables making such a guarantee completely preposterous.
There are those who do everything "right" and still end of with cancer. And, on the flip side - we all know of someone who seemed to live raucously and never received a cancer diagnosis. This has to do with a person's constitution. Your constitution, put simply, is a person's ability to thrive. It is something you are born with - strong, weak or somewhere in the middle, and there isn't anything you can do about it.
Many years ago, shortly after I had finished treatment for my cancer, I had a friend of mine ask if she could do iridology on me. For those of you who do not know what iridology is, it is an alternative therapy based on taking a picture of the eye and using that picture to evaluate your body systems. organs and hence your health. I was a bit curious and quickly agreed to let her take my picture. As she looked at the photo she just stared and stared never saying a word. After what seemed like an eternity I said, "... What? Do I have more cancer and I am going to die tomorrow and you are afraid to tell me?" I said it jokingly because I was quite certain this was not the case, but it did seem like she was concerned about something. Her response was both interesting and very insightful for me. She told me that the closer together and straighter the strands of the iris (the pigmented part) are, the stronger the constitution of a person. She said she had never seen anyone with closer and straighter strands than mine. My response was, "so I am going to live to be 120 and feel awful but my body just won't give up?" Then I laughed and she said possibly but I really already knew I had a very strong constitution because of how my body fought during my cancer journey - this just verified it.
Regardless of one's constitution, however, exercise is a wonderful deterrent to cancer.
Why can exercise decrease your risk of cancer? The main reason is because exercise oxygenates the cells of your body making them 'aerobic". Cancer cannot survive in an aerobic environment - only in an anaerobic environment. The question is how much exercise is necessary to make the cells of your body aerobic. I am not certain doctors would agree with me, but I personally believe it is different from one individual to the next. However, some exercise is obviously better than none and if you are already exercising, doing a little more is generally a good decision. Almost makes you want to stop reading right here and go take a run, doesn't it?
The second reason exercise can help decrease your risk of cancer is not quite as direct. Most people who exercise regularly and push themselves some during those workouts are likely to also be eating wholesome foods, drinking plenty of clean water, "living clean" and keeping their stress levels as low as possible in any given situation. All of these factors decrease your risk of cancer.
If you still need yet another reason to exercise - it just plain old makes you feel better about yourself - and that relates to the emotional side of decreasing your risk of cancer. We are body, soul and spirit which means that everything we do affects us in each of these areas.
If you are not already exercising or you feel too ill to exercise please read my article "Energy and Exercise" here on EzineArticles.com. I believe you will find it very helpful.
Do what you can to decrease your risk of cancer, including exercise, and leave the rest in God's hands. That is the best place you can possibly be.
